As of July 1, 2008, per s. 322.12(5)(a), F.S., every first-time applicant (regardless of age) for licensure to operate a motorcycle must provide proof of completion of a motorcycle safety course before the applicant may be licensed to operate a motorcycle. Riding a motorcycle without the endorsement is a criminal violation.

Introductory Motorcycle Experience (IME)

The MSF IME is an event designed to be an EXPERIENCE, not a training course. The participants are not taking this program to learn to ride. The ONLY objective is to experience a motorcycle’s operational characteristics through an initial hands-on experience in a low risk and controlled environment. The sole purpose is to allow the participant to consider the possibility of formally learning to ride. Each participant will have his or her own unique experience.

Basic Rider Course (BRC)

The best place for a new rider to start once they’ve made the decision to ride is with the Basic Rider Course (BRC). The Basic Rider course is designed for the novice rider. New riders will find our course FUN and ENJOYABLE. Our skilled instructors create an environment that allows for successful completion of the course.

Basic Rider Course 2 (BRC2)

For riders who already have basic skills. It is similar to the BRC except the speeds are higher and riders should be riding their own motorcycle. It is an excellent refresher course for practicing and renewing basic riding skills. There is an informal classroom component that discusses safety concepts based on past riding experiences and current knowledge. For a BRC2 minus the license waiver component (no classroom activities and no knowledge or skill test), there is a skills practice offering.

3-Wheel Basic RiderCourse

This course meets the State of Florida requirement for obtaining a 3-wheel motorcycle endorsement on your driver’s license. This course is designed for beginning riders of all ages. The 3-wheel Basic RiderCourse consists of 12 hours of instruction including approximately 4 hours in the classroom and 8 hours of riding on the parking lot range. This course includes basic operation, maximum effective braking techniques, turning skills, obstacle avoidance maneuvers. We teach you how to safely operate a 3-wheel motorcycle and strongly emphasize the special skills and mental attitude required for dealing with every day riding. Classroom instruction utilizes video and a textbook to provide practical knowledge. The Rider Coaches, all experienced professionals, will advise you on the proper riding gear to ensure comfort and protection. The range at Riders Advantage is a controlled, off-street, pedestrian-free environment. Students will learn and practice safely and correctly the various maneuvers and demanding situations encountered in street riding. Riders must pass both a written test and a riding skills test in order to complete the course. Upon successful completion, you will have met the State’s training requirement for obtaining a 3-wheel motorcycle endorsement at the driver’s license office. Riders must provide a street-legal 3-wheel motorcycle that passes a safety inspection (T-CLOC) and provide proof of insurance and ownership. If the motorcycle is not owned by the rider, a notarized, written approval from the owner to use the motorcycle in the course must be provided.
